At your own pace.

Step off the deck and into 167 acres of private Berkshires forest. Marked trails wind through the property — Rock Ridge, Mountain Top, Upper Falls — and along the way, you'll find carved markers on mossy rocks. A bench placed where the view opens. A stream crossing. A small bird house.

THE LAND · GATHERING OUTSIDE

When the day turns to fire.

A ring of Adirondack chairs cut into the rocks at the edge of the meadow, where the land falls away to fifty miles of valley. Two fire pits on the property — one at the pond, one on the tavern terrace. This is where the day ends. Long sun, longer stories, the ridges going dark in stages.

Wood is stacked. The chairs are already there.

der Biergarten at night — the pergola above the house, bistro lights, and the Berkshires ridgeline beyond — Sunset Falls

THE LAND · ABOVE THE HOUSE

der Biergarten.

A short walk from the front of the house, up a gently sloping path — stone stairs, lit in the evening. At the top, a pergola. Bistro lights, fans overhead, Adirondack chairs pulled around a table big enough for drinks and snacks, or a game that runs late.

A small stone fountain trickles beside it. Climbing roses reach up the posts, and flowers are planted all around.

The Biergarten sits above the house. From your chairs, the sun goes down over the sloping roofline — and beyond it, the mountain ridges, fifty miles out. It is the only place on the property where the house and the sunset can be captured in the same frame.
